Welcome to my campaign for Meridian Township Trustee!

My name is Nickolas Lentz, and I am proud to call Meridian Township my home. I am running to represent Meridian Township on the Township Board, the governing body of our 30 square miles of mid-Michigan.

I have lived in the area all my life and am excited about the chance to represent and work toward making Meridian Township better.

Outside of running for office and exploring parks with my dog Chi-Chi, I work as a non-profit fundraiser. Every day, I am involved in raising money for non-profits that fund child abuse prevention, keep families together when they lose their home and other projects I am proud of. Through my work, I get to help make my community a better place.

I am successful in my work because I bring people together to solve problems – which is exactly what I want to do while serving on the township board.

I have always had a job that I can be proud of. To me, civic engagement means taking a pride in what we have while striving to make it better for all. Fundraising for new homes, for hunger relief, and addiction recovery showed me just how many people need to be involved in transformative projects. That desire to work with everyone I can to make something special happen is exactly why I think I would make an effective township trustee.

Outside of my work fundraising for causes across our region, I am an active volunteer on campaigns. I know what it takes to win an election in large part, because of that volunteering.

In 2022, as a volunteer, I walked over 140 miles and knocked on more than 1500 doors in support of Reproductive Freedom. I know how to listen to and talk to neighbors about issues that drive them to vote, something I plan to do a lot of over this campaign.

In my time on The Ingham County Parks Commission, I saw how much the communities throughout mid-Michigan care about their access to parks and nature – where community values can be experienced by all.

If I win this election, I will do what I can to ensure that my work reflects your values as someone you can be proud of.
